ABOUT ME
I’m a (semi) new grad with a B.S. in Journalism & Emerging Media at Kennesaw State University. As a freelance writer, I have contributed to publications such as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Civic Circle, 285 South, Youth Today, Fresh Take Georgia, Canopy Atlanta, and Georgia Followers.
Throughout my extensive journalistic work, I have demonstrated an ability to adapt to various roles and needs. I am passionate about highlighting the community and reporting through an intersectional lens.
Why do I want to be a creative?
Journalism and the creative process of developing content has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. It began when I received a journal for my 8th birthday. I would walk around asking people questions and writing down their responses, which made me feel more connected to those around me, regardless of their age, race, or gender.
In high school, I joined the yearbook staff and fell in love with print writing, page design, and interviewing. Seeing something I worked hard on come to life was thrilling and something I continued to pursue. My natural curiosity and love for learning made storytelling the perfect fit, allowing me to gain knowledge and stay engaged with the community around me.
As I delved deeper into storytelling the last few years, I recognized the crucial role it plays in our society. Everyone has a story to tell, and it’s my passion to listen, share these stories, and inform our communities.
